As Director of Purchasing, I am responsible for all functions of Purchasing, General Fixed Assets, P-cards, and previously Warehousing. I have a staff of three employees. Serving a District of 25,000 students, 2,400 employees, and 24 schools. The District encompasses 140 square miles with a budget of 140 Million. Duties included Supervising employees, training, preparing contracts, bidding procedures, evaluation of bids and proposals, recommendations to the School Board, award and issue of contracts, contract management, selection of vendors, quality control, and audit requirements. I also serve as a mentor to other purchasing professionals, do presentations for our professional organization, and serve on professional committees.
